Christiano Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armandinho Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josezinho EC's Christiano Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho Pombal in the 9th minute of play. Gil Viana hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. If Armandinho Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th match minute, Paraguai FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rony de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Marcelinho de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rdth minute of the game Marcelinho de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguai FC's Nilton Correia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nilton Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho de Andrade in the 28th minute of the match. A hard shot 29 in the game by Nilton de Amorim from a close distance when the talented Nilton Correia managed to make a qualified save. Paraguai FC's players were relieved. Nilton Correia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilton de Amorim in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão de Alcântara in the 36th minute of play forced Josezinho EC's goalkeeper Christiano Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nilton de Amorim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Nilton Correia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tostão de Alcântara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christiano Nascimento having to make a save. Armandinho Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Christiano Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho de Andrade was the one to do the kick off. If Nilton de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tostão de Alcântara got free with Christiano Nascimento in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 59 played minutes Paraguai FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Cearense. In the 62nd minute, Nilton de Amorim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nilton Correia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Tostão de Alcântara was extremely unlucky when he, in the 69th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Paraguai FC's Nilton Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton de Amorim in the 71st minute of play. Serafim Botelho hit a great ball. Josezinho EC's Christiano Nascimento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Josezinho EC from getting a goal against them. Serafim Botelho was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Paraguai FC booed when Josezinho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafim Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Armandinho Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Nilton de Amorim notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Paraguai FC's Nilton Correia. Nilton Correia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Josezinho EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
