Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Piratini AD's Márcio dos Santos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Leonardo do Vale fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piratini AD's protests and gave Leonardo do Vale a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Josezinho EC booed when Piratini AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeferson Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Christiano Nascimento made a huge save. Lúcio Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilton de Amorim in the 9th minute of the match. Nilton de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Peixoto having to interfere. Nilton de Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lúcio Peixoto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Márcio dos Santos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Christiano Nascimento came out and tried to block the shot, but Márcio dos Santos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelinho de Andrade in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Peixoto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lúcio Peixoto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelinho de Andrade's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Nilton de Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Josezinho EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nilton de Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lúcio Peixoto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 37 minutes, Márcio dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piratini AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Márcio dos Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serafim Botelho hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When Piratini AD's Jeferson Garcia in 40 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Christiano Nascimento guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho de Andrade in the 42nd minute of play forced Piratini AD's goalkeeper Lúcio Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Piratini AD booed when Josezinho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldinho Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Piratini AD's Marcos Faustino tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Josezinho EC's Christiano Nascimento got control of the ball when Jeferson Garcia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelinho de Andrade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hélio Arruda struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Lúcio Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Josezinho EC. Lúcio Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho de Andrade in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Josezinho EC's Nilton de Amorim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Romero during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 67 played minutes Josezinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Romero. If Nilton de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Márcio dos Santos in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christiano Nascimento saved Josezinho EC from getting behind. Márcio dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
