Rodolfo Chaves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hortêncio Lopez's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Zé Roberto Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Chaves having to interfere. Climerio's Rodolfo Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Roberto Marques in the 15th minute of play. Flávio Coutinho hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Elivélton Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márcio Proença in the 22nd minute of the match. Flávio Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elivélton Vasconcelos having to interfere. Márcio Proença's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elivélton Vasconcelos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Bacuriti's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Proença came free, but Elivélton Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Márcio Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 38 minutes, Leopoldo Vianna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bacuriti and the Climerio players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Climerio booed when Bacuriti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leopoldo Vianna got his second yellow card in the match during the 40th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Márcio Proença received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elivélton Vasconcelos came out and tried to block the shot, but Márcio Proença slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 43rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bacuriti's zone, Márcio Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elivélton Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Márcio Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Olívio Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olívio Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bacuriti booed when Climerio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olívio Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Bacuriti's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Proença came free, but Elivélton Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Climerio's Rodolfo Chaves got control of the ball when Zé Roberto Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute, Denílson Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Márcio Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio Proença in the 73rd minute of play forced Bacuriti's goalkeeper Elivélton Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Bacuriti getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Rodolfo Ceresso hit a great ball. Climerio's Jardel Paiva couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 77th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bacuriti. Sabino Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Márcio Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Roberto Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Rodolfo Chaves made a huge save. Bacuriti's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
