Marquinhos Trancoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Jacinto in the 6th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Thomar's zone, Matías Jacinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marquinhos Trancoso came out of the goal and Matías Jacinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, Lucas Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomar's Marquinhos Trancoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Jacinto in the 9th minute of play. If Luís Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the game, Otávio Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Martinesia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thomar the free kick. Otávio Moreira hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 17th match minute, Martinesia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Chaves to maneuver through the defense. Vicente Koehler hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Jacinto in the 23rd minute of play forced Thomar's goalkeeper Marquinhos Trancoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matías Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Marquinhos Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matías Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Trancoso having to interfere. After 40 minutes, Júnior Chaves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Martinesia and the Thomar players grew even worse after the yellow card. Júnior Chaves hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Juvenal Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Trancoso having to interfere. Jardel Peres's late challenge caught a Martinesia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jardel Peres helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, Thomar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jardel Peres to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matías Jacinto to strike the kick off in the second half. Juvenal Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute Matías Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquinhos Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee gave Thomar a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José Severo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Martinesia's Edmundo Varela. 1-0. Gláuber Brito struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Edmundo Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thomar. If Gláuber Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Matías Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Martinesia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.
