Agnaldo Donato, 8 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Vallinhos's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Cardozo came free, but Tomás Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juarês Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Tomás Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vallinhos's Válbson Carneiro got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Olavo Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Missao SC's Agnaldo Donato got a free kick in the 34th minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Sebastião de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vallinhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastião de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomás Correia made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Juarês Passos sent off a good shot on target.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orlando Lucas to make the kick off. Sandro Bastos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldinho Cunha in the 52nd minute. In the 57th minute, Osvaldinho Cunha fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 59 minutes into the match, Orlando Lucas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sandro Bastos, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Vallinhos's zone, Gilvan Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Correia came out of the goal and Gilvan Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the match, Vallinhos's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Cardozo came free, but Tomás Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olavo Cardozo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Tomás Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Missao SC's Juarês Passos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomás Correia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Osvaldinho Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Sandro Bastos made a huge save. When Juarês Passos came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Missao SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juarês Passos couldn't finish the play. Tomás Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olavo Cardozo in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Juarês Passos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Missao SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When Juarês Passos came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Missao SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juarês Passos couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldinho Cunha got free with Sandro Bastos in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Vallinhos's zone, Olavo Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Correia came out of the goal and Olavo Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Vallinhos players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
