The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fernão Sampaio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jean Barral. 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Limao AD's goal looked a bit too open when César Pombal came free, but Ivo Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Limao AD's Alberto Porto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jean Barral. Jean Barral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. If Alberto Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers César Pombal in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivo Barreto saved Limao AD from getting behind. Donato Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Donato Tavares struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Jean Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Limao AD. Ivo Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Marques in the 40th minute of the match. After 41 minutes, Adelino Antunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Limao AD and the Pindaiba EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st minute, Adelino Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pindaiba EC were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Limao AD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcinho de Amorim took the corner. Marcinho de Amorim made a great header on Pindaiba EC's corner, it was just that Limao AD's Ivo Barreto managed to reach the ball for a save. 46 minutes into the match, Mané Marques notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Limao AD's Ivo Barreto. Ivo Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pindaiba EC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Porto in the 97th minute of play forced Pindaiba EC's goalkeeper Jean Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Limao AD had won after a very even match.
