Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Cortume's Luís Gustavo Pinho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Urbano got free with Geraldo Varela in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Breno Mesquita came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Cardozo SC's Oséas Quaresma. But to his dismay, Oséas Quaresma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Carlos Eduardo Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Geraldo Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Urbano in the 15th minute. After some careless play in the Cortume defense, Osmar Almeida kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Breno Mesquita. The Cortume fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Breno Mesquita should have stopped the shot. If João Francisco Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cortume getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Baltazar Loyola hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Artur Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Breno Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geraldo Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Ramalho in the 36th minute of play. After 45 played minutes Cortume got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Damião. João Francisco Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Mesquita having to interfere. After the first half Cardozo SC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oséas Quaresma stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Cortume was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho Duarte to maneuver through the defense. Luís Gustavo Pinho struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Geraldo Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cortume. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Pinho in the 68th minute of play forced Cardozo SC's goalkeeper Geraldo Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Gustavo Pinho struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Geraldo Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cortume. The crowd rose to their feet as Oséas Quaresma kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Breno Mesquita. That made the score 0-4 in the 72 minute of play. The supporters of Cardozo SC booed when Cortume was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Cardozo SC's José Pedro de Sena tried to score from far away in the 79th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. João Francisco Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Mesquita having to interfere. Cardozo SC's João Francisco Tróia got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 86 played minutes Cortume got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Duarte. Breno Mesquita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséas Quaresma in the 92nd minute of the match. Breno Mesquita made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Francisco Tróia in the 93rd minute. Breno Mesquita was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Carlos Eduardo Neto. Chico Ramalho's late challenge caught a Cardozo SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chico Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cardozo SC booed when Cortume was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball.
