Jatai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Edeia the free kick. Joaquim Mandrak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustavo Mello's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Vágner Hoffmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Afonso Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the game, Cesinha Silveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Afonso Secco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vágner Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Secco having to interfere. A hard shot 21 in the game by Cesinha Silveira from a close distance when the talented Afonso Secco managed to make a qualified save. Edeia's players were relieved. João Augusto Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Jatai getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Tiaguinho de Carvalho hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Lúcio Motta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim Mandrak was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Joaquim Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Mello in the 36th minute of the match. If Gustavo Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lúcio Motta struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Joaquim Mandrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edeia. 43 minutes into the match, Lúcio Motta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquim Mandrak. Jatai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lúcio Motta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vágner Hoffmann to strike the kick off in the second half. Luiz Paulo Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Mandrak having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Edeia's zone, Cesinha Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Secco came out of the goal and Cesinha Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Mello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Edeia's goal looked a bit too open when Vágner Hoffmann came free, but Afonso Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vágner Hoffmann scored 2-2 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Secco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jatai's Joaquim Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Motta in the 82nd minute of play. After 87 minutes, João Augusto Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Edeia and the Jatai players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Edeia's João Augusto Silva got a free kick in the 87th minute. Lúcio Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Mandrak having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Lúcio Motta got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
