Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Osvaldo Barreto kicked off to start the match. Avobral SS's Gustavo de Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Avobral SS from getting a goal against them. Silvério Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Silvério Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute of the match Avobral SS got a corner. Taquarembo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luís Trancoso ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Avobral SS's corner Luís Trancoso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sílvio Luís Travassos quite easily take care of the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Taquarembo's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Montenegro came free, but Sílvio Luís Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvério Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Avobral SS's Gustavo de Lara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Avobral SS from getting a goal against them. Donato Esteves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Gustavo de Lara made a huge save. 33 minutes into the match, Taquarembo's goal looked a bit too open when Silvério Almeida came free, but Sílvio Luís Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Igor Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sílvio Luís Travassos. Taquarembo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Silvério Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sílvio Luís Travassos was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Gustavo de Lara made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Donato Esteves sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After a defensive mix-up in Avobral SS's zone, Osvaldo Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo de Lara came out of the goal and Osvaldo Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Osvaldo Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taquarembo's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute Donato Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Taquarembo's Osvaldo Barreto in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Avobral SS's goalie prevented a goal. Sílvio Luís Travassos came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Avobral SS's Igor Montenegro. But to his dismay, Igor Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Gustavo de Lara came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Taquarembo's Donato Esteves. But to his dismay, Donato Esteves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Igor Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Sílvio Luís Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Avobral SS's Luís Trancoso got a free kick in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Avobral SS's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Esteves came free, but Gustavo de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Osvaldo Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Esteves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustavo de Lara having to make a save. 92 minutes into the game, Sidney Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avobral SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taquarembo the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Avobral SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Vieira to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute of the match Mazinho Rosado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustavo de Lara skillfully saved the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Avobral SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
