Zé Carlos Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, Atanasio's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Rosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel de Carvalho. Bruno Breckenfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Caetano do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Recife having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Zé Carlos Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanho's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Carlos Vinhas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Fernando Rosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, Zé Carlos Vinhas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luís Fernando Rosa, 1-0. Luís Fernando Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Carlos Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Luís Fernando Rosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 2-0 became the score in the 35th minute when Daniel de Carvalho elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Caetano do Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Atanasio's Jairo Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caetano do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Recife having to interfere. Atanasio's Luís Fernando Rosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Atanasio from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Carlos Vinhas made a kick off. Gino Nunes thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Luís Fernando Rosa, a very annoying self made goal in the 51st minute which led to 3-0. Rafael Recife made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Caetano do Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Glauco Teles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Fernando Rosa having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Vinhas in the 62nd minute of play forced Atanasio's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fernando Rosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos Vinhas in the 66th minute of play. Caetano do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Recife having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Daniel de Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Fernando Rosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Daniel de Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Zé Carlos Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atanasio's Luís Fernando Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Vinhas in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Castanho's Bruno Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 89 minutes into the match, Castanho's Zé Carlos Vinhas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Fernando Rosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Jairo Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Vinhas in the 92nd minute of play forced Atanasio's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Rosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Castanho had won after a very even match.
