Dráuzio Mumbach started the match with the kick off. In the last second João Carlos Lara throw himself and got hold of the ball when Dráuzio Mumbach in the 3rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Samuca Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Fábio Souto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. João Carlos Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráuzio Mumbach in the 8th minute of play. Luís Fábio Souto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuca Paranaense in the 10th minute of play. After having played for 16 minutes, Samuca Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuca Paranaense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 20th play minutes Rômulo Rezende shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Luís Fábio Souto and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Rezende in the 24th minute of play forced Canche EC's goalkeeper Luís Fábio Souto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fábio Souto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rômulo Rezende went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Bolivia's Rômulo Rezende got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Canche EC's Celso Trigo got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Rômulo Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Samuca Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rômulo Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rômulo Rezende was the one to do the kick off. Sílvio Luiz Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Souto having to interfere. Samuca Paranaense might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fábio Souto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Samuca Paranaense ran back to his position shaking his head. Ricardinho Lopez hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Rômulo Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Souto having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Bolivia's goal looked a bit too open when Dráuzio Mumbach came free, but João Carlos Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rômulo Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute Rômulo Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Souto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Fábio Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rômulo Rezende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuca Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Fábio Souto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Claudinei Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinei Monteiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bolivia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
