Pedro Paulo Freire didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nando de Barros went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Nando de Barros put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Paulo Freire. Dinei Galvão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Paulo Freire read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Samuel de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Décio Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nando de Barros was the one to do the kick off. Capoeiracu's Pedro Paulo Freire proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Capoeiracu from getting a goal against them. Marecas's Décio Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel de Carvalho in the 68th minute of play. Dinei Galvão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Pedro Paulo Freire made a huge save. Pedro Paulo Freire was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Conrado de Azevedo. Acácio Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Décio Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capoeiracu. After a defensive mix-up in Capoeiracu's zone, Dinei Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Paulo Freire came out of the goal and Dinei Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Samuel de Carvalho made a precise shot to the right of Décio Peixoto. Marecas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Capoeiracu's Nando Freire got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, Marecas's goal looked a bit too open when Acácio Jacinto came free, but Décio Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuel de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Peixoto having to interfere. Marecas's Décio Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel de Carvalho in the 95th minute of play. Nando Freire hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The Marecas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
