In the 3rd minute, Sydney Berger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Taquapary FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Yan Massa hit a great ball. Sydney Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu da Costa having to interfere. Vitório Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu da Costa having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Vitório Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garapuava SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitório Paes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vitório Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu da Costa having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Ramón Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Taquapary FC's Amadeu da Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Taquapary FC from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, Garapuava SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Carvalho came free, but Raphael Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belchior Abreu took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raphael Veloso. Raphael Veloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Vitório Paes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Garapuava SC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Bruninho Rosa hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, Gonçalo Breckenfeld sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Garapuava SC's Raphael Veloso didn't even have to move. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Belchior Abreu in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raphael Veloso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Taquapary FC's zone, Sydney Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu da Costa came out of the goal and Sydney Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sydney Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute Sydney Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 played minutes Taquapary FC got a freekick which was hit by Yan Massa. Paulo José Nascimento took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amadeu da Costa. Taquapary FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Carvalho in the 53rd minute of play forced Garapuava SC's goalkeeper Raphael Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Taquapary FC's zone, Sydney Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu da Costa came out of the goal and Sydney Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Raphael Veloso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Raphael Veloso made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Ramón Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 84 minutes, Belchior Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taquapary FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belchior Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Belchior Abreu took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raphael Veloso. Raphael Veloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Raphael Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Vitório Paes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amadeu da Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play.
