Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) In the 7th minute, Gilberto Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gramado's Américo Guerra got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virgílio Quaresma came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Arequembaua AD's Evandro Salgado. But to his dismay, Evandro Salgado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Arequembaua AD's goalkeeper Dito Carvalho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of Gramado:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Arequembaua AD:s goal. Virgílio Quaresma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evandro Salgado in the 45th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Evandro Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Quaresma having to interfere. The Arequembaua AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Arequembaua AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
