Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zé Pedro Quirino started the match with the kick off. Falcão Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Maurinho Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sambaibal EC's goalkeeper Maurinho Dracena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maurinho Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geraldo Bezerra went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Albertinho Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Pedro Quirino in the 20th minute of play. After some careless play in the Durande defense, Paulo Seco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albertinho Vianna. The Durande fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albertinho Vianna should have stopped the shot. Paulo Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Pedro Paulo Marques was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Durande's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sambaibal EC the free kick. A collision led to Durande getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Pedro Paulo Marques hit a great ball. Albertinho Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Pedro Quirino in the 37th minute of play. Clóvis Sá hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Arí Mattos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Maurinho Dracena. Sambaibal EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Geraldo Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Durande fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Bezerra couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Paulo Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sambaibal EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertinho Vianna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Geraldo Bezerra was the one to do the kick off. Armando Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarbas de Barros hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the game, Hamílton Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Durande's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sambaibal EC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game. One of Durande:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sambaibal EC:s goal. When Zé Pedro Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Sambaibal EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Pedro Quirino couldn't finish the play. 71 minutes into the game, Falcão Mattos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Maurinho Dracena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Maurinho Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geraldo Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the game, Clemente Severo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sambaibal EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Durande the free kick. After 78 played minutes Sambaibal EC got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Severo. The crowd rose to their feet as Geraldo Bezerra kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Maurinho Dracena. That made the score 2-3 in the 80 minute of play. If Falcão Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Durande's Geraldo Bezerra, in the 87th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Durande. Falcão Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Falcão Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Falcão Mattos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 99thth minute tested the skills of Maurinho Dracena when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Durande's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
