Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Geraldo Bezerra started the match with the kick off. Tarcisio Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Tibaji's Samuca Valadares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albertinho Vianna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Mandrak in the 9th minute of play forced Durande's goalkeeper Albertinho Vianna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albertinho Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cléber Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geraldo Bezerra's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. When Samuca Valadares came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Tibaji fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuca Valadares couldn't finish the play. Geraldo Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Cléber Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tarcisio Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geraldo Bezerra in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cléber Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 played minutes Durande got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Paulo Marques. When Falcão Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Durande fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Falcão Mattos couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes in the game, Geraldo Bezerra fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cléber Queirós having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Samuca Valadares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albertinho Vianna was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. With a little luck, Tibaji's Cléber Queirós got control of the ball when Falcão Mattos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Falcão Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rony Mandrak was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Tibaji's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Secco came free, but Cléber Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Falcão Mattos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cléber Queirós was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Durande's goalkeeper Albertinho Vianna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rony Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertinho Vianna having to interfere. When Samuca Valadares fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tibaji's protests and gave Samuca Valadares a yellow card for diving instead. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Albertinho Vianna successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tibaji's Cléber Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Bezerra in the 91st minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
