The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fábio Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 6th match minute, Inveia SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano de Lara to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, Inveia SS's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Meirelles came free, but Natanael Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Sapesal's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Palmeira came free, but Daniel Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th match minute, Sapesal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertinho Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Fábio Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Carneiro having to interfere. Hortêncio Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Natanael Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Júnior Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sapesal getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Dráuzio Pirani hit a great ball. If Hortêncio Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marquinhos Zonta during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marquinhos Zonta hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Cássio Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sapesal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 49th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sapesal's goalkeeper Daniel Carneiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fábio Palmeira to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Hortêncio Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sapesal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hortêncio Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arthur Cunha hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Júnior Nogueira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Daniel Carneiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 68th minute, Cássio Meirelles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cássio Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Natanael Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inveia SS's Natanael Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Meirelles in the 72nd minute of play. If Christiano de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júnior Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Sapesal's Daniel Carneiro got control of the ball when Júnior Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Inveia SS's zone, Hortêncio Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natanael Sabóia came out of the goal and Hortêncio Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hortêncio Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Sapesal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Cabral couldn't finish the play. Natanael Sabóia came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Sapesal's Cássio Meirelles. But to his dismay, Cássio Meirelles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Inveia SS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
