The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Cabaceiras SC booed when Guariguari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vânderson Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Cabaceiras SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vânderson Marquez couldn't finish the play. Vânderson Marquez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Téo Marques having to make a save. Célio Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The audience held their breath when Filipe Mendes in the 20th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Téo Marques's left hand side. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erivaldo Cruz to make the kick off. Cláudio Lucas charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cláudio Lucas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabiano Oliveira during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cabaceiras SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guariguari had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
