Thanks to some nice moves Carlos Trigo could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Patrício Tavares however easily saved by the left post. Oscar de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Ramiro Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Coto's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Tepedino came free, but Ramiro Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar de Lara struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Ramiro Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pacencia. Ramiro Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celsinho Tepedino in the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Coto's Carlos Trigo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrício Tavares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 25 minutes, Perivaldo Matos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pacencia and the Coto players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Coto booed when Pacencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perivaldo Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pacencia's Patrício Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Pacencia from getting a goal against them. In the 37th minute, Celsinho Tepedino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramiro Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Carlos Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coto's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrício Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 42 minutes into the game, Erivaldo Vinhas lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Patrício Tavares. In the 46th minute Carlos Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrício Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erivaldo Vinhas made a kick off. Leopoldo Mendes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Carlos Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Pacencia booed when Coto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Cerezo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th match minute, Pacencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Matos to maneuver through the defense. Patrício Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Vinhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Oscar de Lara reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ramiro Linares.
