Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dinei de Queiroz started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 5 minutes into the match, Mascarenhas's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Paraibano came free, but Eliseu Gonçalves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Borboleta's zone, Ulisses de Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Hermes came out of the goal and Ulisses de Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdemar Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulisses de Amaral in the 20th minute of the match. Aloísio Catarinense hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Dinei de Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdemar Hermes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dinei de Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. Valdemar Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei de Queiroz in the 24th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Severino Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borboleta's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseu Gonçalves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valdemar Hermes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulisses de Amaral's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Dinei de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Hermes having to interfere. Valdemar Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei de Queiroz in the 40th minute of play. If Dinei de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinei de Queiroz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdemar Hermes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Borboleta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mascarenhas:s goal. The referee gave Mascarenhas a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Oséias Soeiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Borboleta's Valdemar Hermes. 0-1.

The wind increased when Severino Paraibano made the kick off in the second half. Severino Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Eliseu Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquim Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Severino Paraibano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borboleta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Borboleta's Zé Paulo Valladares got a free kick in the 58th minute. Eliseu Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Severino Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Gonçalves having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Dinei de Queiroz fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Valdemar Hermes, passed just outside the right post. After 68 played minutes Borboleta got a freekick which was hit by Renatinho Xavier. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erivaldo Cordeiro in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliseu Gonçalves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Severino Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulisses de Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Valdemar Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinei de Queiroz in the 87th minute of play forced Borboleta's goalkeeper Valdemar Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseu Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Paraibano in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Dinei de Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Borboleta's zone, Joaquim Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Hermes came out of the goal and Joaquim Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mascarenhas's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
