Luís Fernando Hoffmann hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. If Dorival Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Dorival Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the game, Pedro Luís Toscano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canelas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabara AD the free kick. In the 27th minute, Pedro Luís Toscano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duarte Quirino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rômulo Nunes came out and tried to block the shot, but Duarte Quirino slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 32nd minute. Sabara AD's Rômulo Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte Quirino in the 39th minute of play. Andrézinho Vander kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

Dorival Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Rômulo Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Duarte Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Duarte Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Nunes having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Leonel Valadares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sabara AD's goalkeeper Rômulo Nunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 75 minutes, Wiliam Vinhas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sabara AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wiliam Vinhas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hélder Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Dorival Peres struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Rômulo Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canelas FC. Duarte Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Nunes having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sabara AD's Faustão Britto got a free kick in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the game, Aílton Carneiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canelas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabara AD the free kick. The supporters of Sabara AD booed when Canelas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorival Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Canelas FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
