The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Lira got free with Amauri Bueno in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Amauri Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrinho Miranda in the 51st minute of play. Pedrinho Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Macedo in the 73rd minute of play forced Quaracu AD's goalkeeper Bernardo Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Orlando Lira came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Quaracu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Lira couldn't finish the play. The referee ignored Veadeiros's protests and gave Luisão Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute Pedrinho Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amauri Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amauri Bueno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orlando Lira's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Miranda in the 96th minute of play forced Veadeiros's goalkeeper Amauri Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
