The audience thought a goal was coming when Ediberto Tavares got free with Claudinei Passos in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudinei Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Arantes in the 20th minute of the match. One of Cruangy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Uiraponga AD:s goal. The referee gave Uiraponga AD a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Faustão Leal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cruangy's Pedro Luís Correia. 0-1. Dedê Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Cruangy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Uiraponga AD were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dedê Pinho to make the kick off. After 57 minutes of play, Cruangy's Luiz Fábio Arantes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinei Passos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ediberto Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 88th minute, Filipe Lira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Uiraponga AD's Claudinei Passos didn't even have to move. 95 minutes into the match, Uiraponga AD's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Tavares came free, but Claudinei Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
