União Cedrense FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PeixeVoador the free kick. After 10 played minutes União Cedrense FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by José Valladares. After 11 played minutes, PeixeVoador's Sebastião do Valle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Delfim Monteiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PeixeVoador reached it. Chicão Barros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rubens Santos in the 17th minute. Rubens Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Barros having to interfere. Luiz Fernando Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Chicão Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30thth minute of the game Paulinho Galvão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Cedrense FSCMZ's Delfim Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the match, PeixeVoador's Eliseu Lira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Delfim Monteiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chicão Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Matos in the 39th minute of play. In the 47th minute Eliseu Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Fernando Meira was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Luiz Fernando Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chicão Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulinho Galvão got free with Delfim Monteiro in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Valladares hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Paulinho Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PeixeVoador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulinho Galvão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of PeixeVoador booed when União Cedrense FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The PeixeVoador supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing PeixeVoador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
