Sílvio Pernambucano started the match with the kick off. Zézinho Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paulo Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. João Paulo Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Zézinho Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Osmar Guerra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zézinho Neves. The goal made the score 1-0. Flecheira's Oswaldo Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Mineiro in the 20th minute of play. 24 minutes in the game, André Luiz Velasco dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Umberto Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Pontes having to interfere. Oswaldo Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Sílvio Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fellipe Alves during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fellipe Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Oswaldo Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Vander in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Vander in the 39th minute of play forced Flecheira's goalkeeper Oswaldo Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes of play, Fortaleza EC's Benjamin Mineiro made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oswaldo Pontes was left in no man's land by his defense there!

In the 53rdth minute of the game Sílvio Pernambucano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fortaleza EC's Zézinho Neves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 55th minute, Benjamin Mineiro made a precise shot to the right of Oswaldo Pontes. Flecheira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Gabriel Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Zézinho Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute of the match, Umberto Vander tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Oswaldo Pontes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With an all-out effort, Fortaleza EC's Oswaldo Pontes threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Umberto Vander, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Fortaleza EC booed when Flecheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Cristiano Vargas fired a really elegant long shot, but Oswaldo Pontes threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Zézinho Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Pernambucano in the 68th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sílvio Pernambucano in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zézinho Neves saved Fortaleza EC from getting behind. Sílvio Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute of the match, Benjamin Mineiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Oswaldo Pontes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 77 minutes into the match, Flecheira's goalkeeper Oswaldo Pontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ademir Dante. With an all-out effort, Fortaleza EC's Oswaldo Pontes threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Umberto Vander, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Oswaldo Pontes made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Benjamin Mineiro sent off a good shot on target. 92 minutes into the match, Flecheira's goalkeeper Oswaldo Pontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ademir Dante. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Vander in the 94th minute of play forced Flecheira's goalkeeper Oswaldo Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zézinho Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fortaleza EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
