After some careless play in the Bixopa EC defense, Dagoberto Camargo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurinho de Carvalho. The Bixopa EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurinho de Carvalho should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Abel Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bixopa EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doriva Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Bixopa EC's zone, Belmiro Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurinho de Carvalho came out of the goal and Belmiro Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Cerro Fc's João Augusto Dante broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Agenor Bastos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Abel Queiroz made the kick off in the second half. If Agenor Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The Cerro Fc supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cerro Fc would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
