Catauara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charles Prado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Almescar SC's Charles Prado got a free kick in the 24th minute. Charles Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. João Augusto Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Elias Eger came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Almescar SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Eger couldn't finish the play. Maurício Sena's late challenge caught a Catauara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurício Sena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute, Maurício Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Vianna took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Basílio de Sena. Almescar SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evandro Trancoso during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Almescar SC got a freekick which was hit by Evandro Trancoso. The supporters of Catauara booed when Almescar SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Catauara's goal looked a bit too open when Remo Soares came free, but João Augusto Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Catauara's zone, Elias Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Valle came out of the goal and Elias Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Remo Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Augusto Valle was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Sidnei de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. João Augusto Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Almescar SC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Remo Soares made the kick off in the second half. Basílio de Sena came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Catauara's César Melo. But to his dismay, César Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 63 minutes into the match, Almescar SC's goal looked a bit too open when Murillo Moreno came free, but Basílio de Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marquinhos Bittencourt hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the match, Catauara's goalkeeper João Augusto Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charles Prado. After 73 played minutes Catauara got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Mandrak. When Almescar SC's Remo Soares in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Catauara's goalie prevented a goal. Charles Prado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but João Augusto Valle made a huge save.
