CA Santo André's Cristóvão Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Cristóvão Rosado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Célio Sena. The goal made the score 1-0. Cesinha Couto's late challenge caught a CA Santo André's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesinha Couto helped the player get up and apologised. Cesinha Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. A collision led to Salgueiro getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Fred Ribeiro hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wellington Tasso to make the kick off. Albertinho Chaves tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Hílton Chaves. The crowd rose to their feet as Wellington Tasso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hílton Chaves. That made the score 1-2 in the 76 minute of play. Hílton Chaves was a little too slow when Wellington Tasso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 1-3. Fred Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Cauã de Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salgueiro's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
