Luiz Guilherme Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Guilherme Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Pedro Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Pirangucu getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Amílton Melo hit a great ball. Quadrada's Alex Saraiva couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 17th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Pirangucu. After 20 minutes of play, Pirangucu's Durval Moura made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto de Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Quadrada getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Sidney Prado hit a great ball. Durval Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Leandro Bertassi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quadrada and the Pirangucu players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Leandro Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruy Porto's late challenge caught a Pirangucu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ruy Porto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Quadrada getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ruy Porto hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino Salles in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Pedro Lira saved Pirangucu from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Salles in the 43rd minute of play forced Pirangucu's goalkeeper José Pedro Lira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gino Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ruy Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. José Pedro Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Afonsinho Brasil made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gino Salles in the 54th minute of play forced Pirangucu's goalkeeper José Pedro Lira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Durval Moura was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pirangucu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quadrada the free kick. Durval Moura hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. José Pedro Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gino Salles in the 57th minute of play. Gino Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pirangucu's Afonsinho Brasil got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino Salles in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Pedro Lira saved Pirangucu from getting behind. Pirangucu's José Pedro Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino Salles in the 76th minute of play. In the 85th minute Gino Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gino Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Gino Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Quadrada's Gino Salles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Pedro Lira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luiz Guilherme Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Quadrada were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
