Pong Elin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Samuel Bittencourt made a huge save. After 5 played minutes Nilson de Amorim rounded Marrao's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Betão Nascimento during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th minute, Betão Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmílson Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Mentus having to interfere. Marrao's Samuel Bittencourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Marrao from getting a goal against them. Pong Elin took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Bittencourt. Samuel Bittencourt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marrao's goalkeeper Samuel Bittencourt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Nilson de Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A hard shot 34 in the game by Pong Elin from a close distance when the talented Samuel Bittencourt managed to make a qualified save. Marrao's players were relieved. With his leg Samuel Bittencourt managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Sapiranga F C's Pong Elin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

A collision led to Marrao getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Duda Sanches hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pong Elin in the 56th minute of play forced Marrao's goalkeeper Samuel Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nilson de Amorim's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. A collision led to Marrao getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Zézinho Baiano hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Sapiranga F C's Zé Pedro Batista got a free kick in the 61st minute. Duda Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Filip Mentus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Marrao booed when Sapiranga F C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Pedro Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Duda Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marrao's supporters rose to their feet, but Duda Sanches was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filip Mentus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 88 played minutes Marrao got a freekick which was hit by Duda Sanches.
