Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Marrao's Duda Sanches started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 11th minute by Edmílson Cardozo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Marrao's zone, Luís Fabiano Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Bittencourt came out of the goal and Luís Fabiano Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Saldanha in the 15th minute of play forced Marrao's goalkeeper Samuel Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Edmílson Cardozo came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Marrao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmílson Cardozo couldn't finish the play. Rendenção EC's Arlindo Aguiar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Rendenção EC from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Rendenção EC's Bruno de Moraes got a free kick in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmílson Cardozo got free with Arlindo Aguiar in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sebastião Mangueira hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Edmílson Cardozo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot by Abelardo Valadares from long distance, 29 minutes into the match, got Arlindo Aguiar's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Edmílson Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marrao's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmílson Cardozo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Sanches in the 46th minute of play forced Rendenção EC's goalkeeper Arlindo Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute, Luís Fabiano Saldanha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rendenção EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Guilherme Lopes made a kick off. After 57th play minutes Luís Guilherme Lopes shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Samuel Bittencourt and just under the crossbar into goal. If Edmílson Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. Rendenção EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marrao the free kick. 65 minutes into the match, Rendenção EC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Cardozo came free, but Arlindo Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rendenção EC's Arlindo Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duda Sanches in the 67th minute of play. The supporters of Marrao booed when Rendenção EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arlindo Aguiar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duda Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Duda Sanches got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 75 played minutes Rendenção EC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias de Barros. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Guilherme Lopes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Samuel Bittencourt. That made the score 0-3 in the 80 minute of play. With 88 minutes on the clock, Carlos Eduardo Bertassi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 87 minutes into the game, one of Rendenção EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luís Fabiano Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Bittencourt having to interfere. Alex da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Bittencourt having to interfere. Edmílson Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Marrao supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rendenção EC's performance. The match ended with a win for Rendenção EC.
