Breno Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Cristiano Prestes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Sikström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anísio da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Anton Sikström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Diamantino de Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iate SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espinha the free kick. After a rather tough play, Iate SS's Diamantino de Medeiros got a free kick in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the game, Breno Camargo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Iate SS's goalkeeper Anton Sikström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anísio da Cunha. Manoel Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Paulo José Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Breno Camargo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo José Bezerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. When Anísio da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Espinha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio da Cunha couldn't finish the play. Anton Sikström acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 74th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cipriano Figueiredo. After 74 played minutes Espinha got a freekick which was hit by Agenor Bittencourt. After having played for 78 minutes, Cristiano Prestes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espinha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Prestes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Eduardo Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Iate SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espinha the free kick. Iate SS's Anton Sikström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Prestes in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Orlando Munhoz notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Espinha's Paulo José Bezerra. Paulo José Bezerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Orlando Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Bezerra having to interfere. Iate SS were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Espinha for a fine match.
