The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel Ribeiro got free with Matheus Mota in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tapa AD's Zézinho Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Corrêa in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tapa AD's Erik Tinoco got a free kick in the 20th minute. Palmeiras Poty's Claudinei Corrêa suffered a sore thigh after 22 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Luís Fabiano Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fabiano Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Tapa AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Palmeiras Poty:s goal. When Ezequiel Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Tapa AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. Olívio Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute Jaime Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matheus Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ezequiel Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Matheus Mota didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tapa AD. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeiras Poty's zone, Ezequiel Ribeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matheus Mota came out of the goal and Ezequiel Ribeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Palmeiras Poty were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jaime Paraense made the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 51st minute by Matheus Tavares got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 53rdth minute of the game Jaime Paraense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palmeiras Poty's Matheus Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Tapa AD booed when Palmeiras Poty was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matheus Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Abreu having to interfere. Gilberto Ferraz struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Zézinho Abreu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras Poty. Jaime Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palmeiras Poty would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
