Amílton Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Benedito Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 35 minutes, Walmyr Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CUIABÁ-MT and the Sarapo players grew even worse after the yellow card. But to his dismay, Benedito Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The CUIABÁ-MT players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sarapo were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedito Queirós to make the kick off. CUIABÁ-MT's 林然洲 got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. CUIABÁ-MT walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
