When Mosquito's Otávio Veloso, in the 6th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Mosquito. Frederico Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Motta having to interfere. A collision led to Itapiranga FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Roger Valadares hit a great ball. Otávio Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Mineiro having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Roger Valadares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute of the match Pedrinho Penha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Otávio Mineiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Basílio Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Itapiranga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Pimenta couldn't finish the play. If Danilo Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 played minutes Itapiranga FC got a freekick which was hit by Célio Faria. Itapiranga FC's Otávio Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Veloso in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Basílio Pimenta notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mosquito's Horácio Motta. Horácio Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Otávio Veloso made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Otávio Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Otávio Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otávio Veloso in the 62nd minute of the match. Frederico Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68 played minutes Itapiranga FC got a freekick which was hit by Frederico Lopes. If Otávio Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Otávio Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Otávio Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Danilo Couto came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Mosquito fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otávio Veloso in the 79th minute of play forced Itapiranga FC's goalkeeper Otávio Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Basílio Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horácio Motta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Lopes in the 83rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Frederico Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horácio Motta was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. When Basílio Pimenta got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Itapiranga FC. Basílio Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Horácio Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 minutes of play, Itapiranga FC's Frederico Lopes made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horácio Motta was left in no man's land by his defense there!
