The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Mendonça during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anísio Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víktor Veiga in the 7th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, S.E. Bento XVI's Doni Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anísio Viana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FutBr Esporte Clube's Cafu Sanches got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jorge Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Durval Souto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FutBr Esporte Clube. In the 21st minute, Víktor Veiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anísio Viana was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Oséas Lopez hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Willian Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Durval Souto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Durval Souto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, S.E. Bento XVI's Adhemar Cearense got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 36thth minute of the game Willian Bastos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E. Bento XVI's Durval Souto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Olavo Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FutBr Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olavo Mandrak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Willian Bastos might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Durval Souto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Willian Bastos ran back to his position shaking his head. Doni Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Viana having to interfere. FutBr Esporte Clube's Jorge Mendonça got his second yellow card of the match in the 45th minute. The referee ordered Jorge Mendonça off the ground. The supporters of S.E. Bento XVI booed when FutBr Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48th minute of the match Oséas Lopez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anísio Viana showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half S.E. Bento XVI were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Willian Bastos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. S.E. Bento XVI's Víktor Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Víktor Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Cafu Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, José Pedro Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Claudinei Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Durval Souto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willian Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 75 minutes into the match, Willian Bastos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Durval Souto. S.E. Bento XVI's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Willian Bastos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, FutBr Esporte Clube's Olavo Secco got a free kick in the 78th minute. Cafu Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Víktor Veiga in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anísio Viana saved FutBr Esporte Clube from getting behind. Doni Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Anísio Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Olavo Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot. FutBr Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Olavo Mandrak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Souto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Although FutBr Esporte Clube had been in control for most of the match, S.E. Bento XVI still came away with the win.
