Aterrado FC's Jânio Fernandez managed to work through El Gallinero's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jânio Fernandez dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Hugo Fernandez might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benjamim Freire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hugo Fernandez ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugo Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamim Freire having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Edmílson Esteves kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Flavinho Veiga. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Magno Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Gallinero's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavinho Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Magno Ramalho fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Flavinho Veiga, passed just outside the right post. Flavinho Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Flavinho Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmílson Esteves in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in El Gallinero's zone, Jânio Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamim Freire came out of the goal and Jânio Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmílson Esteves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Flavinho Veiga made a huge save. After having played for 39 minutes, Jânio Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aterrado FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jânio Fernandez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Magno Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the last second Flavinho Veiga throw himself and got hold of the ball when Magno Ramalho in the 44thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 46 minutes into the match, Aterrado FC's goal looked a bit too open when Magno Ramalho came free, but Flavinho Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jânio Fernandez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aterrado FC's Flavinho Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magno Ramalho in the 54th minute of play. Flavinho Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Esteves in the 60th minute of play. If Magno Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Flavinho Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magno Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamim Freire was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Hugo Fernandez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hugo Fernandez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Aterrado FC's zone, Edmílson Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavinho Veiga came out of the goal and Edmílson Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When El Gallinero's Magno Ramalho in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Aterrado FC's goalie prevented a goal. Magno Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Aterrado FC booed when El Gallinero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcinho Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Aterrado FC's Magno Valle got a free kick in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Magno Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Gallinero's supporters rose to their feet, but Magno Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavinho Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. El Gallinero's Edmílson Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Magno Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. A wasted opportunity for El Gallinero. El Gallinero's Magno Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
