Lucas Rezende didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marquinhos Cearense went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Possante de Jacó's João Vítor Prado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hílton Branco. That made the score 1-1 after 20 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Santos's Magno Borges got a free kick in the 24th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Santos's goal looked a bit too open when João Vítor Prado came free, but Hílton Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Santos's Hílton Branco got control of the ball when João Vítor Prado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 32nd minute, when Simão Pena scored to the left of an out of position Hílton Branco, making the score, 2-1. Lucas Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Koehler in the 36th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Possante de Jacó got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Prado. Lucas Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marquinhos Cearense in the 42nd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simão Pena to strike the kick off in the second half. Marquinhos Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Rezende having to interfere. Lucas Rezende made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Marquinhos Cearense sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Possante de Jacó's Lucas Rezende got control of the ball when Marquinhos Cearense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lucas Rezende stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vágner Koehler's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. When João Vítor Prado fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Possante de Jacó's protests and gave João Vítor Prado a yellow card for diving instead. João Vítor Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Lucas Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Koehler in the 59th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Simão Pena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hílton Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After a rather tough play, Possante de Jacó's José Maia got a free kick in the 76th minute. Santos's Cássio Mendonça couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 77th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Possante de Jacó. Zé Augusto Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Possante de Jacó's Lucas Rezende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Possante de Jacó from getting a goal against them. Possante de Jacó's Lucas Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Koehler in the 87th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Simão Pena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Hílton Branco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Simão Pena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute, Tiago Gabriel Ceresso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos's goalkeeper Hílton Branco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Santos players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Possante de Jacó.
