Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jefferson de Barros took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Adelino Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovani Borges came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Possante de Jacó's Simão Pena. But to his dismay, Simão Pena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Giovani Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Augusto Carvalho in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Simão Pena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Possante de Jacó fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 14th minute Jefferson de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes, Caco Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Messejana and the Possante de Jacó players grew even worse after the yellow card. Caco Monteiro hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. When Simão Pena got free in front of the goal in the 18th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Giovani Borges was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Zé Augusto Carvalho took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Giovani Borges. Giovani Borges dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Simão Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Giovani Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Messejana's zone, Zé Augusto Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Borges came out of the goal and Zé Augusto Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Possante de Jacó were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simão Pena to make the kick off. When Possante de Jacó's Simão Pena in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Messejana's goalie prevented a goal. Gilmar Tavares charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilmar Tavares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Simão Pena in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Giovani Borges, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Possante de Jacó's Zé Augusto Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Giovani Borges didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Simão Pena went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Messejana's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Adelino Gaúcho scored to the left of an out of position Giovani Borges, making the score, 0-6. The supporters of Possante de Jacó booed when Messejana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caco Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Messejana's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Adelino Gaúcho scored to the left of an out of position Giovani Borges, making the score, 0-7. If Zé Augusto Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovani Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão Pena in the 88th minute of the match. Lucas Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benê Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Possante de Jacó's João Vítor Prado got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 94th match minute, Messejana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caco Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Possante de Jacó's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
