Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Frederico Paraibano kicked off to start the match. In the 4th minute Felippe Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ajax's Murillo Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júnior da Fonseca in the 6th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Luso Carioca's zone, Rodrigo Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Francisco de Medeiros came out of the goal and Rodrigo Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frederico Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco de Medeiros having to interfere. Murillo Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard de Amorim in the 13th minute of the match. Murillo Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felippe Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fausto Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Júnior da Fonseca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Murillo Luz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute, Júnior da Fonseca made a precise shot to the right of Murillo Luz. Ajax's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Rodrigo Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júnior da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Murillo Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, one of Ajax:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ajax. After having played for 36 minutes, Hortêncio Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajax's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hortêncio Braga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Amaral's late challenge caught a Ajax's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cipriano Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. 42 minutes into the game, Richard de Amorim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Murillo Luz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luso Carioca's João Francisco de Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Luso Carioca from getting a goal against them. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.
The wind increased when Júnior da Fonseca made the kick off in the second half. Murillo Luz was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Júnior da Fonseca capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Júnior da Fonseca really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Rodrigo Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco de Medeiros having to interfere. Fausto Zonta struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. João Francisco de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajax. Ajax's Hortêncio Braga got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murillo Luz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard de Amorim in the 81st minute. Murillo Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the game, Ajax's Rodrigo Mazza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Francisco de Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Murillo Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júnior da Fonseca in the 90th minute of the match. If Hortêncio Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Mazza notched a goal, 3-5, to the right of Luso Carioca's João Francisco de Medeiros. João Francisco de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luso Carioca were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Ajax's much stronger midfield.
