Ediberto de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dida da Cunha in the 7th minute of the match. Júlio Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Belmiro Barbosa in the 9th minute of play. Belmiro Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Dida da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hortolandia EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dida da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ediberto de Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Belmiro Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dida da Cunha made a kick off. After 64 minutes of play, Hortolandia EC's Daniel Nogueira made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ediberto de Sena was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Luiz Paulo Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Acudes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Paulo Maranhense couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Acudes's Belmiro Barbosa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3.
