Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Zé Paulo Montenegro got the match started through his kick off. Guga Montenegro's late challenge caught a Saraiva's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guga Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. After 6 played minutes Jeronimo SC got a freekick which was hit by Guga Montenegro. In the 9th minute, Manuel Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Santana in the 10th minute of play forced Saraiva's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeronimo SC's Tiago de Alcântara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Jeronimo SC from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute Manuel Furlan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago de Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ian Bastos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jeronimo SC's Guga Montenegro got his second yellow card of the match in the 59th minute. The referee ordered Guga Montenegro off the ground. Jeronimo SC's Tiago de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernandes in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Saraiva booed when Jeronimo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cauan Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiago de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. A collision led to Jeronimo SC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Cauan Arósio hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Narciso Severo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiago de Alcântara was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. When Ian Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jeronimo SC's protests and gave Ian Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 minutes, Jean Chaves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saraiva and the Jeronimo SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Narciso Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeronimo SC's Tiago de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Severo in the 87th minute of play. Tiago de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Severo in the 89th minute of play. Narciso Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Jeronimo SC defense, Manuel Furlan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiago de Alcântara. The Jeronimo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiago de Alcântara should have stopped the shot. When Zé Paulo Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Saraiva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Montenegro couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Saraiva were the better team. Saraiva's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
