Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Uberaba FC's Gil Cordeiro started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match, Luiz Guilherme Moraes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dário Linhares was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Uberaba FC's Dário Linhares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Uberaba FC from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Capuaba defense, Gil Cordeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bebeto Alves. The Capuaba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bebeto Alves should have stopped the shot. Capuaba's Luís Eduardo Amorim couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Uberaba FC. Luiz Guilherme Moraes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dário Linhares firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 16th minute, one of Uberaba FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Uberaba FC. Uberaba FC:s Dário Linhares showed great skill when he stopped Luís Eduardo Amorim:s penalty. If Flavinho Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Carlos de Sousa might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bebeto Alves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Carlos de Sousa ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Capuaba's Dário Linhares threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hugo Tinoco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dário Linhares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Eduardo Amorim in the 43rd minute. After the first half Uberaba FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The Uberaba FC fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Uberaba FC's Gil Cordeiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Capuaba getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Ediberto de Mendonça hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gil Cordeiro got free with Bebeto Alves in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ismael de Queirós struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Bebeto Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uberaba FC. After 67 played minutes Uberaba FC got a freekick which was hit by Serginho Meirelles. Hugo Tinoco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Hugo Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dário Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gil Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Eduardo Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of Capuaba booed when Uberaba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lauro Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Carlos de Sousa got free with Bebeto Alves in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dário Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Tinoco in the 96th minute of the match.
