The referee ignored Poimro's protests and gave Jonas Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Poimro got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Mendonça. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Poimro's goalkeeper Jefferson Lopez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonas Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathias Mello's late challenge caught a Poimro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathias Mello helped the player get up and apologised. Mathias Mello hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Jefferson Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldinho Linhares in the 14th minute of play. Jefferson Lopez was a little too slow when Osvaldinho Linhares got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. Putiri's Mathias Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Putiri booed when Poimro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamim de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonas Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Mathias Mellos short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Jefferson Lopez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Poimro's Jonas Goiano got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute Luizinho Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aílton Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Putiri getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Joélson de Souza hit a great ball. Putiri's Aílton Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Santos in the 41st minute of play. In the 45th minute, Putiri's Mathias Mello ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jefferson Lopez. Jefferson Lopez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonas Goiano was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Putiri's zone, Jonas Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aílton Sergipano came out of the goal and Jonas Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Poimro booed when Putiri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonsinho Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathias Mello hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Jonas Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Sergipano having to interfere. Jefferson Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldinho Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
