Tamoata SC's João Vítor Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Torres in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Manuel Sarmento notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Tamoata SC's João Vítor Proença. João Vítor Proença was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 21st minute, Tamoata SC's Eriberto Simão dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. With a little luck, Clube de Regatas MEC's Charles Mattos got control of the ball when Toninho Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Sarmento in the 28th minute of play forced Tamoata SC's goalkeeper João Vítor Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Gordon Banks had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Vítor Proença. Tamoata SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gordon Banks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Tamoata SC's João Vítor Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Torres in the 45th minute of play. If Ronaldinho do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oscar Torres made a kick off. Manuel Sarmento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but João Vítor Proença made a huge save. In the 55th minute Oscar Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 minutes of play, Tamoata SC's Teodoro Salles made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Charles Mattos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé Paulo Alcântara's late challenge caught a Tamoata SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Paulo Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Paulo Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. When Oséias da Silva came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Tamoata SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oséias da Silva couldn't finish the play. Charles Mattos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Teodoro Salles's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Clube de Regatas MEC's Charles Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Hoffmann in the 77th minute of play. Tamoata SC's João Vítor Proença proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Tamoata SC from getting a goal against them. Tamoata SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Gabriel de Souza scored to the left of an out of position João Vítor Proença, making the score, 3-4. Ronaldinho do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Charles Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clube de Regatas MEC's Charles Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Neves in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Clube de Regatas MEC's Augusto Moura ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind João Vítor Proença. João Vítor Proença yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-5. João Vítor Proença showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Torres in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Manuel Sarmento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube de Regatas MEC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-6.
