Jerônimo Varela took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gildo Mangueira. Gildo Mangueira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Jerônimo Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Paranaense in the 10th minute of play forced Rialto's goalkeeper Gildo Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Jerônimo Varela made a precise shot to the right of Gildo Mangueira. Rialto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 16th minute, Renatinho Toledo made a precise shot to the right of Gildo Mangueira. Rialto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Vitinho Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo Mangueira having to interfere. Pedro Luiz Faria was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 20 minutes into the match. The referee gave Gil vicente a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rui Britto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rialto's Gildo Mangueira. 0-4. In the 31stth minute of the game Enio Tróia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rialto's Gildo Mangueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vitinho Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 played minutes Rialto got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar de Sena. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Frederico Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gil vicente's supporters rose to their feet, but Frederico Paranaense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gildo Mangueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gildo Mangueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Carlos Arruda's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 42nd minute, Jerônimo Varela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gildo Mangueira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Frederico Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gildo Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabrício de Amaral to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Rialto's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Varela came free, but Gildo Mangueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gildo Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Rialto getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jean Peres hit a great ball. Gildo Mangueira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jerônimo Varela showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 57 minute of play. With a little luck, Rialto's Gildo Mangueira got control of the ball when Vitinho Botelho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerônimo Varela got free with Gildo Mangueira in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gildo Mangueira was a little too slow when Vitinho Botelho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 0-8. Rialto's Gildo Mangueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Rialto from getting a goal against them. Gildo Mangueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jerônimo Varela's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Vitinho Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 74 minutes into the game, Vitinho Botelho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gildo Mangueira. Vitinho Botelho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-9. With a little luck, Rialto's Gildo Mangueira got control of the ball when Frederico Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Frederico Paranaense came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Gil vicente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Paranaense couldn't finish the play. After having played for 85 minutes, Jerônimo Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gil vicente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerônimo Varela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Jerônimo Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot. The supporters of Gil vicente booed when Rialto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederico Paranaense succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-10 in the 94th playminute. Gil vicente played a much better game than Rialto and deserved their victory. The Rialto players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
