With his leg Diego Camargo managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Gil vicente's Frederico Paranaense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Diego Camargo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerônimo Varela in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diego Camargo saved Chiniqua from getting behind. After 7 minutes, Tomás da Rocha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chiniqua and the Gil vicente players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Chiniqua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. When Frederico Paranaense came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Gil vicente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Paranaense couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gil vicente's Jerônimo Varela slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Diego Camargo. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. Tiago Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Gil vicente's Jerônimo Varela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diego Camargo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. A collision led to Gil vicente getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Jerônimo Varela hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Gil vicente's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Vidal came free, but Rômulo Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André de Queiroz during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 37 played minutes Chiniqua got a freekick which was hit by André de Queiroz. 40 minutes into the match, Gil vicente's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Vieira came free, but Rômulo Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chiniqua's Renan Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Gil vicente getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Renatinho Toledo hit a great ball. Tomás da Rocha was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 46 played minutes Chiniqua got a freekick which was hit by Tomás da Rocha.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Renan Vidal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frederico Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 70th minute of the match André de Queiroz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave André de Queiroz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 69th minute, one of Chiniqua:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chiniqua. Diego Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Varela in the 76th minute of the match. Chiniqua's Artur Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Renan Vidal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rômulo Lopez came out and tried to block the shot, but Renan Vidal slotted it home off the left post making it 5-1 in the 81st minute. Diego Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Paranaense in the 85th minute of play. Dráuzio Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Camargo having to interfere. Diego Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Genílson Souto hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Frederico Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute.
