After the first half Formiga Atômica were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wanderson Mota was the one to do the kick off. When the match clock showed 52 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Wanderson Mota sped through Formiga Atômica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Staffan Hellqvist. João Francisco de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertinho Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. João Francisco de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albertinho Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco de Carvalho having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Formiga Atômica walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
