Dedê Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Naldo Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Tony Prado got a free kick in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Valle in the 16th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Kléber Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Naldo Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedê Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Enamung's goal looked a bit too open when Dedê Barbosa came free, but Naldo Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dedê Barbosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Naldo Negri made a huge save. 31 minutes into the match, Enamung's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Prado came free, but Naldo Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Enamung's Naldo Negri got control of the ball when Dedê Barbosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Baltazar Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Dedê Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltazar Linhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Naldo Negri having to make a save. Tony Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Naldo Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dedê Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Negri having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedê Barbosa was the one to do the kick off. Naldo Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Prado in the 53rd minute of the match. Tony Prado struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Naldo Negri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos FC. Naldo Negri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dedê Barbosa's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. When Frédson Braga fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santos FC's protests and gave Frédson Braga a yellow card for diving instead. 63 minutes into the game, Haroldo Maranhense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kléber Barral. Haroldo Maranhense showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Tony Prado got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Tony Prado hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute of the match Iuri Toledo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kléber Barral skillfully saved the ball. After 70 played minutes Enamung got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Paraibano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Barbosa in the 72nd minute of play forced Enamung's goalkeeper Naldo Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Santos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Varela to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the game, Santos FC's Dedê Barbosa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Naldo Negri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Dedê Barbosa took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Naldo Negri. Naldo Negri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. A collision led to Enamung getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Eurico Hames hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Luizinho Freitas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Naldo Negri was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. A hard shot by Eurico Hames from long distance, 94 minutes into the match, got Kléber Barral's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 95 minutes of play, Enamung's Laerte Valle made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kléber Barral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Santos FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
