In the 15th minute of the match Olívio Carneiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amauri Leão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Claudinei Lira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amauri Leão was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 19th minute, Gilvan Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute Murilo Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murilo Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Rodrigues in the 24th minute of play forced Cara EC's goalkeeper Marcus Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Claudinei Lira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amauri Leão was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Amauri Leão made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Claudinei Lira sent off a good shot on target. Mateus de Lima could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Amauri Leão made a huge save. Eusébio Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusébio Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eusébio Antunes hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudinei Lira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Dário Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mateus de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 59 minutes into the game, Cara EC's Claudinei Lira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amauri Leão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The supporters of Cara EC booed when Inesopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murilo Arantes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Marcus Pena made a huge save. A collision led to Inesopolis getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Eusébio Antunes hit a great ball. Gilvan Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Pena having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, Mateus de Lima cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Amauri Leão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Cara EC's Marcus Pena got control of the ball when Murilo Arantes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Mateus de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cara EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateus de Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amauri Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
